Do you sometimes think that other people are luckier than you? Does success have more to do with luck than skill, knowledge, savvy, and good old-fashioned work? Kevin says that you need to grab opportunity and make it happen rather than wait for it to come to you.

Keith also points out that, if you are indeed in the right place at the right time, maybe things “come” to you because you’re putting yourself out there so much that you actually increase the potential for serendipity and cool things to happen. Face it, if you’re not out there consistently, doesn’t that create less potential for awesome synchronocities and connections?

Meanwhile, successful people are certainly focused on results and what they can do to bring the results they want. Elizabeth shares that who you know is also quite helpful in making things happen, and we can all attest that direct referrals can often result in awesome opportunities.

Emotional regulation is important for the business owner; you can, of course, get upset when something isn’t working, but the successful person doesn’t allow their emotional reactions to get in the way of inspired action.

Consistency is also a very important factor in manifesting success. How do you demonstrate consistency?

Being busy vs being productive is a big deal for Kevin. He doesn’t like the word “busy” because it feels that it now has a negative connotation in our current world. Many people appear to fill their lives with tasks that aren’t necessarily productive. We have to specifically choose and decide how we spend our time and energy. What are you making yourself busy with? Are most things that you do meaningful to you? How do you spend your time? Kevin recommends a regular self-audit in terms of your time. Elizabeth likes to work hard and play hard; for her, spending time in the garden and having fun is crucial to her happiness and success.
